Sri Venkateswara University is sited in the surrounding areas of the world popular temple town of Tirupati.
This University was founded to satisfy the catering purpose to meet the educational needs as well as aspirations of the Rayalseema area people, envisioned by the then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Late Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu and Late Sri Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy.
History

Educational Streams
Sri Venkateswara University comprises of many constituent as well as affiliated colleges providing courses in varied streams. Apart from these colleges, a centre for Postgraduate students is also in association with the university.
The computational requirements are taken care by the Computer Centre for the entire University. Acquiring admission in PG Courses is accepted when the candidates qualify the entrance test held every year by the Directorate of Admissions.
For M Phil or PhD admissions are conducted on the basis of the results of Research Entrance Test held by SV University. The PhD Program selection is based in the qualifying examination scores as well as the entrance test.
Facilities
Sri Venkateswara University facilitates with individual hostels for men and women students. This campus is well equipped with modern laboratory equipments and a library resource system is featured to assist researching activities.
This library offers services such as reference, book lending, reprography and inter-library loans. There are adequate facilities in this library to look for e-journals. The students are given free medical help at the health centre of the university.
