Science colleges in Mumbai are found in many numbers in and around the city. However, the students seeking admission for the science degrees have to clear the 10+2 board exams with the desired aggregate marks in the science streams having physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology and English.
Science colleges offer graduate and post graduate degrees namely, B.Sc and M.Sc. The Mumbai science colleges usually have day scholars and the courses offered are B.Sc Science, B.sc Biotechnology and Biochemistry, B.Sc. Botany and Zoology, B.sc Microbiology and B.Sc Botany.
The science colleges in Mumbai include some of the renowned colleges namely St Xaviers College offering B.Sc and M.Sc in life science, botany, biotechnology and microbiology.
It also offers Ph.D program in all these disciplines. Mithibai College, Elephantine College, Bhavan’s College, Ramnarain Ruia College, KJ Somaiya college of science and commerce, Wilson College, SIES college and Ruparel college of arts, science and commerce.
Apart from these colleges, there are many more science colleges offering programs for graduate and post graduate courses. All the graduate courses or programs are for three years and the post graduate programs or courses are for additional two years.
The science colleges have good infrastructure such as perfect science laboratories for chemistry and proper equipments, computer labs and libraries.
