Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University is a major agricultural university in the whole of Asia.

History
This university was earlier known as HAU, the Hisar Agricultural University in Haryana. The present name was after the former Prime Minister of India, Chaudhary Charan Singh.
This educational institution became autonomous in 1970, and was later ratified as Haryana and Punjab Agricultural Universities Act, 1970 passed by the Lok Sabha.
HAU developed many varieties of rice, wheat, cash crops such as cotton, sugarcane, oilseeds and cotton, millets, forage crops, besides vegetables and medicinal plants.
Educational Streams
The university provides Undergraduate courses as well as programs in post graduation. There are doctoral programs also in several departments. These programs are structured in a professional pattern keeping in mind the need of the time and its demand among people.
The under graduate programs admission is held by a Common Entrance Test, but this keeps the home science as exceptional. The university announces the largest volume of research papers in the agricultural universities in India.
