NIT, National Institute of Technology is located at Kurukshetra. This is a Government institute providing courses in undergraduate, postgraduate as well as PhD in diverse fields of engineering and technology.
This institute of technology at Kurukshetra is one of the pioneer colleges in India that has gained lots of repute.
Earlier, this institute of technology was known as Regional Engineering College Kurukshetra.
This college was founded in 1963 as a combined and co-operative enterprise of the Indian Government and the Haryana State Government to offer technical education in this state.
This institute is recognized as an institution of national importance and owing to this it was accorded the Deemed University status. It was renamed as National Institute of Technology in the year 2002.
Courses
National institute of technology offers undergraduate courses in information technology and various branches of engineering namely, computer, electronics and communication, mechanical, electrical, and many more.
Post graduate courses included many more courses in respective fields such as civil engineering dealt with engineering courses such as structural, water resources, transportation, foundation and environmental engineering.
Master of business administration is also an important course offered by this institute. The Doctorate engineering courses include many courses as well.
Eligibility
The undergraduate eligibility qualification for admission in B.Tech or B.E is higher secondary examination with 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. However, the SC students are eligible with 45% and ST students with 40%. Conversely, the admissions are given depending on the AIEEE exams conducted.
Post graduate students possessing bachelor’s degree having 60 % in the relevant areas is expected for admission. However, SC or ST students can seek admission with 55 % marks. The post graduate students are given on the basis of their GATE score.
Candidates seeking MBA admission should have completed the 10+2+3 pattern in graduation from a recognized institution. This admission is based on the written test, group discussion and interview.
