University of Himachal Pradesh is located at Shimla, India. It is a public university where government in Shimla managed and administered it. This suburban university had 28 teaching departments in many various academic courses in ayurveda, yoga and bhoti. Approximately 220,000 students enrolled in this university and most of them are women.
It also had 80 affiliated colleges and universities around the district of Himachal Pradesh.. Actually, it had complete facilities in all aids of learning because government in Shimla supported all the important needs and wants of the students in the university.

Jaypee University of Institute and Technology is also one of the prominent universities in Himachal Pradesh. This university is located at Waknaghat, Soaln in Himachal Pradesh State and its academic activities started on July 2002.
This city recognized this university as a private university from all those universities in Himachal Pradesh and University Grants Commision approved it. It also had two institutes that are found at Guna and Noida.
Another university in Himachal Pradesh is the Chaudharry Sarwan Kumar University. It is also known as Himachal Pradesh Vishwavidyalaya. Indian Council of Agriculture Research accredited this university. By this, this university grew and expanded different colleges for agriculture.
Universities in Hinachal Pradesh also covered the Dr. Y.S Yeashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry. Its university name derived from the name of first Himachal Pradesh Chief Minester.
Through the act of Himachal Pradesh government this university is established on December 1, 1985 to promote professional education and research. It had eight several departments in Horticultute college and six departments in Forestry college.
Previously Regional Engineering College is known now as National Institute of Technology through the establishment of Indian state government in a year 1986. This university focused more in the advancement of technology design. Some universities in Himachal Pradesh offered vocational and technical in developing student’s personal characters and interests.
