Cochin University of Science & Technology is an autonomous university situated in Kerala.
This is also known as CUSAT and is sited in Cochin. This university offers degrees for undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctoral levels in diverse fields of allied and engineering subjects.
This is an institution that is expected to be upgraded to emerge as Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology.

CUSAT was instituted in the year 1971 to satisfy the commitments of the Kerala Government towards the advanced scientific policy resolution. This institution was earlier known as the University of Cochin, and it was later reorganized as Cochin University of Science and Technology in 1986.
This university became international in 1996-97 and initiated by offering admission to foreign students as well as faculty exchanges. However, this university is yet working to strengthen contacts as well as to tie-up collaboration with international institutions and universities.
Facilities
Cochin University of Science & Technology offers hostel accommodations for all the students doing graduation, post graduation as well as research. CUSAT is also featured with a well-stocked library and also offers a digital library acting as the central point to collect information as well to gather other essential needs of the department. There is a rich assortment of periodicals, valuable books, technical reports, doctoral, patents, conference and proceedings.

It has established centers for National Manpower Information, Interdisciplinary Studies, Ocean Electronics Science in Society, Creative Writing, Rural Development & Appropriate Technology, Neuro Science, Economic Policy, Aquatic Animal Health, and many more programs. They also exchange these programs with notable educational institutions with Europe, USA, Japan, Russia, Korea, France, etc.
