History
Berhampur University was founded in 1967 by the then Governor of Orissa as well as the first Chancellor of the University, Dr AN Khosla. This University is shifted to the present site called as Bhanja Bihar and it acquired this name after Kabisamrat Upendra Bhanja, the celebrated Orissa poet.
This university is well known for being a symbol of glory as well as prosperity in South Orissa.
Educational Streams
Berhampur University has acquired distinctions in the academic fields owing to its qualitative as well as quantitative production of PhD, M Phil, D Litt and D Sc degrees. This Orissa University offers M Sc in Biotechnology or Bioinformatics, M Tech in Computer Science, M Tech in Electronic Information Systems, PG Diploma in Disaster Management and Masters in Business Economics.
