Fakir Mohan University is a well known public university that is situated at Balasore in the Orissa state.
It was instituted in 1999 by the Orissa Government under the 1989 University Act.
This university is recognized by the UGC, the University Grant Commission and the Association of Indian Universities.
This University is named after the Oriya literature legendary father, Fakir Mohan Senapati and is as well one of the prominent builders of modern Orissa.
History
The Fakir Mohan University came into existence owing to the unmanageable size of Utkal University. This was instituted in 1999, under the University Act section 32, 1989.
in reality this is the largest university offering the best strength of students and hence this state decided on opening Fakir University at Balasore and another at Baripada.
Educational Streams
Fakir Mohan University offers multi-level courses in several disciplines. The courses offered include PhD, under graduate, Post graduate and Diploma in majority streams, conventional and professional. Admissions of majority courses is through written Entrance Test having a coding as well as encoding system
This university offers the facility of Distance Education for people who are unable to attend class regularly.
Facilities
This university has an assortment of journals and various books in its library where they have facilities such as reading room. A personal Advisory System is featured to offer the teachers as well as students an opportunity to interact properly, and this also helps in communicating effectively.
