BITS is the abbreviated form of Birla Institute of Technology & Science.
This was founded in 1929 and initially was a simple school, but today it is well-known and has emerged with a series of colleges offering higher education.
The prominence of this institute increased owing to its ranges offered from humanities to engineering.
The series of colleges were brought together in the aim of culminating into a distinct university meeting the international standards.
BITS was awarded the deemed university status in 1964 and is renowned for its courses in the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the engineering faculty.
This institute is accredited with A grade by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council. It also has campuses at Hyderabad, Goa and Dubai.

Birla Institute of Technology & Science offers undergraduate courses in chemical, computer science, mechanical, electronics, electrical and instrumentation.

Eligibility
- Candidates securing 80 percent as aggregate in higher secondary examination with math, physics, chemistry and English with 60% are considered to be eligible for undergraduate courses. However, the toppers are given direct admission in BITS.
- Post graduate aspirants should possess a degree with relevant subjects to secure admission.
- Candidates looking for MBA admission should have secured 60% at least at the undergraduate level of any recognized university.
- Aspirants having higher degree are considered to be eligible for Doctorate courses and they should have secured 60% marks to prove their eligibility.
Admission Process
The process for undergraduate admission is on merit basis from the score secured in the BITSAT.
The Post graduate courses admission process is done on the basis of online test as well as interview held by this institute.
MBA admission is given depending on the online test, interviews and group discussion, while the Doctorate courses admission is based on the written test as well as interview held.
