VIT University was earlier affiliated to the University of Madras, but in 2001 it acquired the status of deemed university.
Formerly, this institute was founded as Vellore Engineering college in 1984, but was renamed as VIT university from 2006 with a decree of being the deemed university.
This university is accredited with A grade and its technical courses are recognized with the UK, Institution of engineering as well as technology.
Facilities
VIT University has a vast campus spread over 250 acres and the most captivating feature of this university is it is well planned and the infrastructure provided to the faculty and students is comprehensive.

Ranking and Admissions
This university is ranked number 10 among the top engineering universities. This university adheres to an entrance exam system for admission conducted every year in April. Another exam VITMEE is held for Masters Programs admission.
However, all the admissions are based on merit. Similarly, for Business Management courses, the CAT results and other tests are taken into consideration. |
