Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad is recently established in 1999 for Information technology and computer science.
This institution was founded to churn out more software engineers to meet the challenging demand and the increase in the IT boom in Europe and US.
This Institute was conferred as Deemed University in 2000. This empowered the institute to award degrees to its examinations.
Campus
The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad campus is located in the outskirts and is scattered over 100 acres land. The design is contemporary in this institution and so are the architecture unique indicating atoms and bits.
The buildings in this campus have been designed by an international mathematician and scholar, Roger Penrose. At present, IIIT Allahabad focuses only on Cyber Law and Information Technology.
These courses are available at graduate and post graduate levels. Apart from this a novel course MS in Cyber Law is introduced.
Courses
The courses offered for under graduates are Information Technology and Electronics and Communications Engineering. Post Graduates dealing with Information Technology qualify as M Tech or ME. M Sc in Information security and Cyber Law is on the rise and Masters in Business Administration is also a proven course.
Eligibility
The eligibility for under graduates is the same like any other institute that the candidates should have adequate marks in 10 + 2 examination held from a recognized board of examination. The Post Graduate candidates are expected to have a B. Tech degree from a recognized university.
MBA and MSC admissions are given to graduate candidates from any repute university in that relevant subject. Candidates with B Tech or M Tech are considered to be eligible for Doctorate.
Admission System
The admission system for undergraduates depends on the All India Engineering Entrance Examination and counseling.
The post graduates admission is given on the GATE score and interview. MBA admission depends on the CAT Score, group discussion, written test and personal interview.
