Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology was instituted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and India in 1961.
This institute of Allahabad was earlier known as Motilal Nehru Regional engineering college and in 2002; it acquired the status of being Deemed University.

Admission & courses
Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology admits undergraduate students over 500 and 150 postgraduate students every year.
The affiliated courses for under graduation include Applied Mechanics, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and more.
Similarly, the Post Graduate courses for MTech or ME also have all the above courses and M.Sc with Scientific Computing and Mathematics. There are courses for Masters in Business Administration and Computer Applications.
Eligibility
The undergraduate courses expects their candidates to pass their 10 +2 pattern examination or something equivalent and the Post Graduate courses such as MTech or ME demands bachelors degree from their candidates from repute university in the relevant field.
Aspirants for M Sc are expected to hold science bachelors degree with math as an integral subject and to have secured 60% marks. Aspirants for MCA should be graduates in B.Sc with computer science or Maths and should have secured 60% to seek admission.
Admission Procedure
The admission for undergraduates is given on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination and the admission for Post graduation courses M Tech or ME is given on the GATE score of individual candidate.
Entrance test has to be qualified for MSc, MBA is carried on with CAT Score, personal interview and group discussion. MCA admission is offered on the basis of NIT common entrance test.
