Rabindra Bharati was instituted in the year 1962, May 8 by the West Bengal government marking the birth centenary of Tagore.
Faculties
The faculties of Rabindra Bharati University are arts comprising of English, history, Sanskrit, Bengali, philosophy, economics and political science.
The visual arts faculty comprises of education department, library, Vedic studies, information science, research and more studies focused on Tagore. The fine arts faculty offers vocal music, instrumental music, drama, musicology, dance, painting, mass communication, sculpture, applied arts, graphics, and many more.
